The Trouble With Fries by Malcolm Gladwell

McDonald's has been around for a little over 50 years and is now the biggest fast food chain on Earth. Back in the day, we really did not care what we ate. But over the course of a few decades, we are now finding out that all these trans fats and unhealthy calories are leading to cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. The political reasoning behind fast food and its vast amount of health concerns is that we are the people who are being affected by this mass produced food. We should be changing the ingredients and the way the food is cooked so that it is much more healthy. Also, we should start teaching and training our children on how to eat healthy, what to and what not to eat, and how do keep active and motivated in keeping a healthy BMI. People view fast food in political terms because all these multi-billion dollar fast food chains are all over the world now and they affect almost, if not, all people around the world.

  1. I agree, I also believe that the first step should be to gain public awareness on eating healthy and make the first change in your own home. We should teach our kids to eat healthy and make healthier choices instead of trying to blame obesity on corporations.

  2. I completely agree that there are dangerous health risks when consuming large amounts of fast food. I also believe that parents should teach their children on what foods to eat and what not to eat. Fast food corporations make large sums of money and they dismiss the low quality in their foods that is causing people worldwide to become obese. What do you think the fast food corporations should do to fix this problem?

  3. I agree with your opinion, as you said we have to start teaching and training our children, we have to let them know what is healthy food and what we should be eating. Don't let unhealthy food be the reason for many of our diseases. Try to be a healthy from the start when we are young.

  4. I agree with you, the goal should be to teach and educate children as to what is good for you and what is not. We should teach the younger generations, so when they grow up they will be smarter then to go to eat fast food all the time. They will eat better food and be healthier people.
