Dignity: Inside the Fast-Food Labor Protest

When asked if fast food is political, my answer is an automatic yes. People view fast food politically based on how the government plays a huge role in fast food workers lives. The government has the control of raising the minimum wage and issuing a law that benefits the workers to have medical insurance. In the article Arisleyda Tapia try's to make her point across to the reader by using pity methods. From what I've concluded, she seems selfish. There will be nationwide impact if the government implemented a two dollar increase. Food prices will also go up. The standard of living will still be the same. But I do believe that the government should intervene with fast food company's to create a plan that all workers who work within a period of time should be able to have proper medical insurance.

  1. I think Tapia does not show selfish, because it is from her point of view to tell the story that happen to her, and she is not a great popular people like the video we watch named: "‘Work is supposed to take you out of poverty’: Fast-food strike planned", Mary Kay Henry is a lady who full with wise and she know more policy problem more than Tapia. Also Tapia is not the actual author of this article. But I agree with your idea on government should make a plan with fast food company to help workers.

  2. I agree with you to some extent since I believe that government should take an action to raise the minimum wage. I think that it would help to decrease the number of people who depend on public assistance programs.

  3. I do agree with you that fast food is political. Government should do something for these workers who get pay minimum wage. Another issue is that many workers are not getting medical insurance, which they rightly deserve.

  4. I agree, the government should take action an increase the minimum wage in all states through out the country. This action will hopefully make people be able to afford healthier food. I also agree with you in that the government should give the entire work force medical insurance plans.

  5. I agree, with "...fast food company's to create a plan that all workers who work within a period of time should be able to have proper medical insurance." With economy going down, people are less likely to afford for medical insurance, when they don't even have enough money to afford for food.
